Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), also known as the Buckley Amendment, gives students the right to:

  1. inspect and review their educational records;
  2. consent to release of educational records to a third party;
  3. request amendment of information believed to be incorrect that is included in the educational records; and
  4. be notified of their rights under FERPA. Also under FERPA, the student must authorize, in writing, the release of any part of his/her records including grades. It is the policy of Saint Augustine’s College to comply with the terms and conditions of FERPA.
