Faith in Action
The Department of Religion and Philosophy and the Department of International Studies organize a Faith in Action Project in both the Fall and Spring semesters each year. Learning to reach out in compassion to those in need is a very valuable part of our students education.

Film & Theater
The philosophy of the theatre and film program is that students learn by doing. Class sizes are small enough to offer individual attention for all students. The facilities and state of the art equipment provide the opportunity for practical, hands-on experience in production for the camera and stage.

Gateway
The mission of "The Gateway Lifelong Learning Program" is to offer non-traditional, continuing and alternative academic educational opportunities for adult learners. The Gateway Program is designed to give working, non-traditional and community college transfer students an option to pursue a degree and / or personal/professional development.

Honors
The program seeks to enhance student leadership prowess through the formulation and implementation of activities and projects that help to broaden the scope of academic growth, community service, social and cultural awareness. In addition, the program will assist students in developing skills necessary for playing prominent leadership roles in our global society. Activities will focus on developing time management skills, fiscal responsibility, networking strategies, public speaking, multi-tasking, understanding the importance of appropriate attire and appearance in the workforce.

MEAMP
Mid-Eastern Alliance for Minority Participation (MEAMP) is a division of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program.
MEAMP is designed toward increasing the enrollment and graduation rate of underrepresented ethnic minority students earning baccalaureate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

NIH-MARC U*STAR
The National Institutes of Health Minority Access to Research Careers Undergraduate Training and Research (NIH-MARC U *STAR) Program grant in the amount of $1.075 million was awarded to Saint Augustines College to support research training for students of minority groups that are underrepresented in biomedical sciences to improve their preparation for graduate training in biomedical research.

National Science Foundation
The program will provide support services and experiences primarily for our freshmen and sophomore SMC students. Its concept embodies a living and learning model in which SMC students will not only work together cooperatively in the classrooms and laboratory, but also in their respective male and female dormitories. One of the critical components of the Program is the "village" where female students are housed together on the 3rd floor of Boyer Hall, while male SMC students are housed together on the 2nd floor of Baker Hall.

ROTC
Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) is one of the best leadership courses in the country and is part of your college curriculum. During classes and field training, you will learn first-hand what it takes to lead others, motivate groups and how to conduct missions as an Officer in the Army. Upon graduation from Army ROTC, you will earn the bar of a Second Lieutenant and become a leader for life.

Upward Bound
The purpose of the Upward Bound Program is to prepare students for success in education beyond high school. Students who meet specific family income levels and are potential first-generation college students are given an opportunity to experience "college life." Operating on a year round basis, the academic component consist of two Saturday sessions per month in which six academic classes (Math, Science, English Reading, Spanish and Computer Skills) are offered.
