The mission of the Saint Augustine's College Testing Center is to provide comprehensive testing services to the College and community by providing services to meet institution, local, state, and national academic and certification standards. The Center provides over 15 comprehensive placement, certification, and professional exams.
Accuplacer is a nationally recognized placement test used to measure your skills in Reading, English and Math. Your test results will tell you whether you may enroll in College level courses, such as English Composition I or College Algebra, or whether you need to complete one or two semesters of preparatory coursework to develop additional skills before enrolling in the College level courses.
ACCUPLACER is a computerized adaptive test; therefore, students use computer technology to write ACCUPLACER tests. The computer software uses the information that you supply to the system through the personal information questions at the beginning of the test to determine which question from a pool of first questions should be your start question. If your response to the first question is correct, the software will select a more difficult question for you. If your response is incorrect, the software will select a less difficult question for you. After a series of 17 to 20 questions, the software determines your level.
Some programs may allow placement into certain math courses that are not listed here. Be sure to see your advisor for additional information. If you have questions about your test results or your course placement, please talk to your advisor
