"Tell me about yourself." How often have you gone on an interview or to a career fair or met a friend of the family and been asked this question and had NO IDEA how to respond? You are not alone.
At the Belk Professional Development Center we work with you to prepare you for life's most challenging questions. Our mission is to empower you to identify and maximize the connection between what you hear (and the thing you love to do) and how you make a living. Whether it is through workshops, one-on-one counseling or holiday-dinner-with your family type chats, our goal is to increase your awareness and help you develop multiple strategies for achieving your career goals.
Having an appreciation that there is life after graduation, we continue to provide assistance and counsel on topics related to being a better leader and graduate student. In our Suite (located in Goold Hall Student Center) there is a resource library covering a range of topics from "Writing Resumes as a Lawyer" through succeeding in securing funding and placement once you receive you Ph.D. Through our Employment Enhancement Seminars we offer a unique learning experience designed to guide you through the next phase in your professional journey by sharing uncovering things like hidden message you may never see in print and how to conduct a productive meeting.
Enjoy our site and we hope to see you in the Center soon.
